Exton Malayali Association
Celebrating Our Roots, Growing Our Future Together
Exton Malayali Association (EMA) brings together families from Kerala living in Chester County and Philadelphia suburbs. Founded by friends celebrating their heritage, and officially inaugurated in 2021, EMA has grown into a vibrant community dedicated to preserving Kerala’s rich cultural traditions while creating meaningful connections in Pennsylvania.
Community Activities
EMA serves as a vibrant cultural bridge connecting Malayalees in Chester County and Philadelphia suburbs, fostering both heritage preservation and community development through our diverse programs and initiatives.
Community Outreach and Support
EMA's outreach programs extend our impact beyond cultural celebrations through strategic partnerships with local organizations, volunteer initiatives, and targeted fundraising for causes in Pennsylvania and Kerala. We create meaningful connections that address community needs while strengthening bonds among members through compassionate, culturally responsive engagement.
Celebrations and Cultural Events
Experience Kerala's rich traditions through our vibrant year-round celebrations that bring our heritage to life in Pennsylvania. From elaborate Onam festivals to spirited Independence Day commemorations, family-centered picnics, and festive New Year gatherings, we create immersive cultural experiences that strengthen community ties. These carefully curated events serve as living bridges between generations, allowing our children to connect with their roots while celebrating our shared identity in our American home.
Educational and Youth Programs
Our educational initiatives, including the youth-led Yuva club, provide opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and cultural learning. These programs help younger members connect with their heritage while developing skills for success in American society. By fostering cross-cultural awareness and critical thinking, we prepare the next generation to be proud ambassadors of Kerala's traditions.
Musical and Artistic Expressions
Discover your creative voice through our expanding artistic initiatives. Paattukoottam, our music club, offers karaoke events and collaborative performances, while our newly launched EMA Theatres brings dramatic arts to our community through theatrical productions. With more artistic programs in development, we're nurturing creative expression that honors Kerala's cultural heritage while encouraging innovative fusion.
EMA is more than an organization...
We are a cultural family deeply rooted in Kerala’s heritage and Pennsylvania’s community spirit. Our journey began in 2007 when friends gathered to celebrate Onam, creating a home away from home where Malayalees could preserve traditions while building new connections in America…
